Locally sourced party planning in Boston might seem daunting at first, but once you know where to go, it's a breeze! I sat down with the creator of 617eats, Claire Chazen, to pick her brain on how to throw the perfect party with locally sourced ingredients and products.

Amy Esposito: A lot of my readers host dinner parties and love to support local Boston business owners. Where are a few business they can support in buying party decor?
Claire Chazen: Boston is blessed with some great local shops for decor. Olives + Grace (voted Best of Boston) and Pioneer Goods Co in the South End have great housewarming gifts and things to bring some character and love to your home. Also check out Xylem in Kendall Square for kitchy fun party games. Also, Paper Source always has fun little games, and party accessories.

AE: What about the ever-important signature cocktail? Do you have a favorite local liquor store with knowledgeable staff? And a go-to cocktail?
CC: Look no further than Urban Grape (multiple locations in Boston) or Clarendon Wine for knowledgeable and friendly staff. Free tastings don't hurt either...
AE: Obviously, one of the most important parts of throwing a successful dinner party is delicious food. What are you favorite local Farmer’s Markets in the area to pick up ingredients?
CC: SoWa is amazing and runs every Sunday May through October. Roslindale Farmer's Market is every Saturday and also has live music! For already prepared and amazing cheese Frommagio in the South End is not to be missed.

AE: Flowers and table toppers can create a beautiful atmosphere. Do you have a go-to florist for arrangements?
CC: Stapleton Florist in South Boston makes gorgeous arrangements. Winston Flower's on Newbury Street is my go-to as well.

AE: I’ve saved the best for last - desserts. Do you have a go to bakery that makes treats perfect for a dinner party?
CC: Wow this is tough. Flour Bakery will never ever disappoint. Sweet for cupcakes.
